In July, tragedy struck Baghdad’s Karada district as a bombing claimed by Daesh (ISIS) killed over 150. At the time, many Iraqis on Twitter decried the use of fake bomb detectors in the country. Yesterday, a Daesh-claimed attack again struck the city when a car bomb killed 10 in Karada. And once again, Iraqis are criticizing security in the popular part of Baghdad on Twitter.

Many criticized the state of security in Iraq in general following the latest Karada attack.

Others went into more detail.

The above criticisms only represent the opinions of the posters. But the sentiment that Karada and other parts of Baghdad remain at risk of Daesh attacks. A pattern of Daesh attacks occuring around Muslim holidays may also be developing, as the July attack came during the post-Ramadan Eid al-Fitr holiday. Yesterday’s attack came a few days before Eid al-Adha is about to start.
