The exciting final game took place on the Sports Palace playgrounds at the Sports City on July 20th, 2011, in the presence of His Royal Highness, Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, and officials from LG, Hikmat Road Safety, Ministry of Education, the Traffic Department, Greater Amman Municipality, YAD , Royal Jordanian, and all other supporting and participating parties.
In an atmosphere of exciting festivities among fans, families, and friends exceeding 1500 people, the winning team was rewarded with the grand prize, which includes a trip to Real Madrid Club, a chance to train under some of the world’s most seasoned coaches, and to attend a Spanish league match on the Bernabeu Stadium grounds.
Mr. Kevin Cha, LG Electronics Levant Managing Director, commented, “The LG Harat initiative has flourished with the results we had hoped for in nurturing and refining the kids’ sports skills, and realizing their dreams through defining a right football path, as well as looking after their safety and protecting them from street risks. We are proud to participate in this initiative which carries sports, humanitarian, and social goals at once, and we’re looking forward to expanding it to a regional level soon.”
On the other hand, Hikmat Road Safety Founder, Mr. Maher Kaddoura, commented saying, “The unrivaled success achieved by this noble initiative, stands as a testiment to the importance of joining efforts for the continuation of launching such initiatives, aiming to create safe areas for kids to exercise their sports hobbies, away from cars and accident risks. I am also delighted to see the kids’ faces aglow with happiness and satisfaction, and to hear their positive comments on their wish for this league to continue.”
The LG Harat League, considered the first of its kind in the region, translates His Royal Highness Prince Ali’s directions to nurture youth talents of all age groups, and to secure extensive support for preparing a professional football generation, capable of competing confidently in games of all levels. LG Electronics had launched this initiative under the patronage of His Royal Highness, Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, on March 23rd, 2011, aiming to foster kids’ sports skills, and to protect them from street risks and accidents. The football league activities had taken place in school playgrounds, where players competed until the winning team was crowned and won the chance to attend a live Real Madrid match on the Bernabeu Stadium grounds in the Spanish capital, Madrid, in the upcoming month of September, 2011.
This league was the first of its kind in Jordan, carried out in partnership with Hikmat Road Safety, Greater Amman Municipality, Ministry of Education, and the Traffic Department, where it had included 40 educational directorates with 3500 competing participants between the ages of 9-13 years old.
