The video of Syrian singer George Wassouf bowing for Syrian businessman Rami Makhloof, who is Syrian President Bashar Al Asad’s cousin, gave rise to heated criticism amongst all who watched it. Some interpreted the scene as George being very much into his singing and merely bowed unintentionally in front of Rami.

Others who had placed George on the black of list of singers to be boycotted for supporting the regime of Bashar Al Asad considered the singer’s actions as degrading and interpreted the video as him bowing for Rami.

George was present at a social event hosted by Syrian singer Ali Al Deek and he, George, began dancing amidst a group of people among who was Rami Makhloof and suddenly bowed in front of him.

George did not comment about the incident that was filmed and rapidly spread over the internet.
