Negotiations are currently taking place with Lebanese singer Wael Kfoury to portray the late Egyptian legendary actor Rushi Abadha in a new television drama that tells the story of his life. The drama is initially to be titled “the Don Juan”.

The Egyptian magazine ‘Akhbar Al Nujoom’ (Star News) has published that Wael has not expressed his acceptance or refusal of the role, despite the fact that he welcomed the idea and wanted to carefully read the entire script before giving his final word.

Director Asad Fuladkar, who has been chosen to direct the drama, stated that Wael was nominated to portray the character of Rushdi not merely due to a resemblance in looks, but rather due to the charisma and popularity that Wael has which is not the same as but close to that of Rushdi.

Asad noted that no agreement has yet been reached and the film makers are waiting for Wael’s final decision in order to proceed or seek other possible artists for the role. Asad added that since this will mark Wael’s first acting experience in the event that he accepts, he will require intensive acting lessons

According to the internet website MBC.net, Asad revealed that the drama will feature numerous events and stories that will highlight Rushdi’s mystical charm that made him the Don Juan of his era.

It is not yet known whether the drama will see the light by the Ramadan season of 2011.
