After an 18 years absence from holding concerts in Morocco, Lebanese superstar Ragheb Alamah has returned and held a live performance in Casablanca to promote the release of his latest album. The singer justified his long absence from Morocco by stating that the country never closed its doors in his face, and said he was a victim of hurtful and disturbing rumors.
According to the London based Elaph, during a press conference Ragheb held in Casablanca after holding a live concert and releasing his latest album “Sineen Rayha” (Passing Years), he stated that his fans in Morocco had always requested his performances despite rumors that lasted for 18 years.
The rumor that had kept the singer away for so long was allegations that the singer had insulted the Moroccan people, a matter which the singer strongly denied committing. Ragheb added that he had decided to keep away from making live performances in Morocco after the rumors and his absence was not him being banned.
During the press conference Ragheb thanked the King and people of Morocco and said he was overwhelmed with joy at being between his fans and family in morocco, whom he so eagerly wanted to reunite with.
Ragheb stated that he carefully chose the sponsoring company for his performance in Morocco. The singer revealed that he intends on filming his upcoming music video in Morocco as a way of showing gratitude to the Moroccan people.
