Poet Jihan Al Sha’rawi was shocked when she heard the song “Sabah Al Khair Ya Masr” (Good Morning Egypt) by Egyptian singer Tamer Husni realizing that the words are taken from her poetry collection “Bint Meen Fi Masr” (Whose daughter in Egypt). Jihan said that the words were from the poem she wrote “Sabah El Khair Ya Masr” released a few years ago.
Jihan stated that she had heard the song and realized that the words are from her personal poem and who ever hears the song and knows her poem will know that it was taken from it. Despite this fact, song writer Mustafa Hassan, who wrote the song, did not make any reference to Jihan’s poem and claimed that it was his own creation. The poet added that Mustafa had taken verses from different poems in her collection and combined them in the song by Tamer.
