A source at the Al Shami Hospital in Damascus has denied recently circulating rumors that prominent Syrian actor Khaled Taja has passed away. the source at the hospital, where Khaled is staying, revealed that the actor is still alive and remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and all that was said about his death is mere lies.
The source added that the news of the actor’s death was created from outside the hospital and no one inside the hospital made any such revelation. It was added that the rumor had spread very quick and intensively and no one had thought to verify it with the hospital.
Khaled’s niece, Sulafa Taja, wrote on her page on the internet social network Facebook that the rumor of her uncle’s death is not true and he remains in hospital until this point. Sulafa said that she is talking on behalf of her uncle and the entire family and is very disappointed that a number of known media sources published or announced the news of Khaled’s death assuring that reports had caused Khaled’s family and friends’ great agony.
Jordanian producer Issam Hijazi, who is a good friend of Khaled’s, also denied the rumor of his death and stated that the actor’s condition is stable.
In the past few days, Khaled had suffered a sudden deterioration to his health condition after experiencing an extreme shortness of breath and was immediately admitted to hospital to receive the needed care. It is known that the actor suffers from lung cancer and has been dealing with the matter in a very courageous manner.
