Egyptian journalist Mahmoud Saed has signed a contract with the new ‘Tahrir’ television channel that is owned by journalist Ibrahim Issa. The channel will begin broadcasting in the upcoming few days.

According to the internet website MBC.net, it is announced that ‘Tahrir’ channel is considered to be the first satellite television channel that is dedicated entirely to the Revolution of January 25, which overthrew the regime of ousted Egyptian President Husni Mubarak.

Officials at the channel stated that having Mahmoud join their team is a great advantage and will aim tremendously in the success of the channel.

The temporary broadcasting for the channel had been going on for the past few weeks and the official broadcasting will be launched on NileSat in the upcoming days.

Mahmoud had from the start of the revolution announced his full support to protesters, a matter that led to his banning from the Egyptian National television channel at the time, which was in support of Mubarak. When the revolution ended, Mahmoud had returned to the Egyptian channel but shortly after left for good due to the fact that he had refused to hold an interview with the former Prime Minister Ahmad Shafeeq.
