The family of rising Egyptian singer Carmen Suleiman, who had recently won the title ‘Arab Idol 2012’, has turned down a marriage proposal made by UAE singer Abdullah Bilkhair and a dowry of 10 million US dollars. Carmen’s family also refused to make any form of reply to the news reports regarding the proposal made in the press.
Camrmen’s father stressed that no member of his family is willing to make any formal statement regarding the matter and simply said that the proposal made by singer Abdullah Bikhair has been turned down, and said that Abdullah is simply trying to create commotion to gain some media spotlight. Carmen’s father added that Abdullah should look for other means to enhance his popularity and camera-appeal, using other gimicks as when he recently compared his own smile to that of the Mona Lisa.
Recent news reports had it that Bikhair is very fond of student Carmen and he had decided to ask her hand in marriage and is very hopeful that she will accept and intends on heading to Egypt at the beginning of make to make his proposal official. It was added that he will give Carmen 10 million US dollars if she accepts.
During Carmen’s participation in ‘Arab Idol’, Abdullah had stated that he sees a rising star in Carmen and that she will steal the spotlight from Lebanese singers Nancy Ajram and Haifa Wahbe. He had added that Carmen is very good looking and has a great figure.
