Adel Imam denies being paid millions for commercial

Prominent Egyptian comedian actor Adel Imam has denies recent circulating rumors that he was paid a wage of eight million US dollars for his appearance in a television commercial for one of the cellular phone companies. The actor stressed that if he was paid eight million he would resign his acting career.

According to the internet website MBC.net, Adel did state that the wage he received from the company was irresistible and refused to reveal the exact amount.

Adel noted that he received numerous calls after being in the commercial from friends and people in the entertainment business congratulating him on a job well done. The actor revealed that throughout his career he had received many offers from different companies to be in commercials, but had always turned them down.

The actor added that this time, the offer came from director Shareef Arafah, who is also the producer of the commercial he acted in. Adel said that his trust in Shareef made him think the offer to be in the commercial over seriously and finally gave his acceptance.
