Lebanese singer Nicole Saba cut her visit to Lebanon short, and returned to Cairo to file a lawsuit against producer Muhsin Jaber, owner of Alam El Phan Production Company.
Nicole claims that Muhsin purposely neglected to complete the production of her new album for release this summer season, in addition to his refusal to film a new music video.
The singer’s contract with Muhsin clearly states that he must produce three albums for her in the course of three years.
Muhsin has only produced one album for Nicole, prompting her to file the suit.
Nicole expressed disappointment over the negative image the media has presented of her, depicting her as a provocative singer who depends solely on her looks and sexual appeal to maintain her popularity.
Now she is working to build her career without using her looks, which ushered her into the spotlight, she clarified.
According to the Saudi based daily, Al Riyadh, Nicole believes recent music videos for female Lebanese singers have led the public to believe that most of theses artists depend solely upon their sexuality to achieve fame, which may reflect negatively upon all Lebanese woman.
Nicole affirmed that Lebanese women are intelligent and talented, and hopes this image will extend to their singing careers.
Nicole has made a final decision to shift her entertainment career from Beirut to Cairo. The singer has bought an apartment in the Al Maadi district, and plans to reside there with her mother on a permanent basis. She will occasionally visit Beirut, but feels Cairo, where most of her recording and filming takes place, is more suitable for her career.
