Lebanese singer Alissa was recently in Kuwaiti after receiving a special invitation to inaugurate the Kuwaiti Woman exhibition. The singer received a very warm welcome ceremony from the organizers of the event as well as the large crowd of fans that gathered to take pictures with her.
According to the London based Elaph, the exhibition featured a number of figures from the entertainment world, beauty experts, fashion designers and revolved around everything that concerns women.
Recently, Alissa attempted to run away from Egyptian tax authority by not paying the income tax fee she is obliged to pay for her concert on Valentine’s Day alongside Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama. The amount Alissa is to pay is 9 thousand Egyptian pounds and she had almost gotten herself into deep trouble if it were not for the intervention of her business manager who settled the matter by paying the amount due.
On his part, Ragheb made sure to pay the taxes due from his concert, which amounted to 11 thousand Egyptian pounds, to refrain from falling into trouble with the Egyptian tax authorities and in turn hurting his image. By his actions, Ragheb gave a good example of a singer, who does not attempt to flee from his obligations.
The matter marks the second for Alissa, the first being in Dubai when she also attempted to run away from paying taxes due on a performance she held. The singer did not comment on her actions or give any justification for trying to flee from paying taxes.
