ALBAWABA - According to an official report released Friday, a devastating fire at an aged care facility in the capital of Jordan, Amman, has left six people dead and 60 injured, including five in serious condition.
Jordan's Social Development Minister Wafa Bani Mustafa said the fire started on the first level of the "White Family Association – Elderly Care Home." "The fire killed six residents, critically injured five, and moderately injured fifty-five others," she confirmed.
The blaze extended over an area of 80 square meters, causing substantial damage to the facility that housed 111 residents. While the injured were transported to government hospitals for immediate medical attention, emergency personnel relocated the remaining residents to alternative care facilities.
Investigations are being conducted to determine the cause of the incident, which has tragically affected the care center and its occupants, Minister Bani Mustafa added.
