Italy has swapped $55 million worth of Moroccan debt, the Italian embassy in Rabat announced on Friday.
A high-ranking mission headed by the Italian Foreign Minister is expected in Morocco on Monday to officially sign the swap accord, said the official Maghrebe Arab Presse (MAP).
Through the swap, the debt will be converted into work on several development projects, including drinking water supplies for rural areas, rural road construction, irrigation, health and education – Albawaba.com
