FinMark Communications (FinMark), a specialist international financial and corporate communications consultancy with offices in Bahrain, London and Riyadh, today hosted a media lunch and panel discussion to celebrate international media day and address the importance of the role of media in the global economy overall and in the development of the fast growing GCC markets.
The event, which was held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel & Spa in the Kingdom of Bahrain, was attended by local media from the Kingdom, correspondents from neighbouring GCC markets and regional representatives of international financial media and trade press. Also joining the gathering were a number of corporate communications specialists and clients of the firm representing some of the Kingdom’s leading private and public sector organisations and financial institutions.
The event featured a high level panel discussion presided over by Dr. Salem Al Gudhea, a prominent Saudi economist, commentator and economic advisor based in Riyadh, and Mr. Saleh Humeidan, the General Manager of Al Yaum, among the leading Saudi newspapers, based in Al Khobar. Their discussion focused on the unique role being played by members of the media in the development of the regional economies and financial markets and in particular the media’s position as important medium for building awareness among investors and the general public of issues of local, regional and international economic significance.
Commenting on the occasion, Mrs. Zahraa Taher, Managing Director of FinMark Communications said: “FinMark Communications is delighted to host this event in appreciation of the active role members of the media in general and in specific in the local market continue to play in positively contributing to the growth of business and the overall economic development of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The media and news organisations gathered here today provide an invaluable service to the general public, investors, the government and the corporates that we serve. We’d like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude and underscore the ongoing importance of supporting the media as they seek to develop and deliver information - both financial and socio-economic - which can continue to help drive our communities and economies of the region forward.”
