Customers frequenting Mirdif City Centre will begin to feel the festive spirit as the mall starts its preparation for Ramadan 2011. Setting the mood with traditional décor, key initiatives – in conjunction with Playnation’s Little Explorers and Carrefour – have also been set in place to help families shop more conveniently throughout the day.

Catering to those who wish to visit the mall at weekends – and in addition to the mall’s already successful weekday “Drop and Shop’ program – Playnation, at Mirdif City Centre, has implemented its new VIP Drop & Shop program. The novel program is now offered every Friday & Saturday between 10am and 6pm, and allows parents and children to enjoy a two hour session for AED120 which also includes five zones, one free toy, face painting, and a happy cube competition or Playdough challenge.

Festive décor in the Central Galleria has also begun, with inspiring story displays, as well as a dedicated story telling area for children and a relaxation gazebo. The mall’s ‘Soulful Nights & Days’ provides children with an opportunity to learn about the patience, humility, and spirituality and meaning of Ramadan, as they collect inspirational words from various locations within the mall. After shopping and storytelling, parents and children can go on to savour delicious meals with special Iftar and Sohoor menus.

Mirdif City Centre Asset Director Yousif Al Ali explains, “Ramadan is a time to reflect on the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves. At Mirdif City Centre we are continuously creating ways for our visitors to shop with ease, while initiating educational elements to our offering to help younger generations understand the true meaning of such festive periods. We also encourage visitors to donate used or unwanted items to help those in need.  Charity collection points are located throughout the mall.”

In what is essentially a time for giving, the Majid Al Futtaim ‘Make a Difference This Ramadan’ campaign will have a collection point located in the central Galleria for visitors to donate everyday items such as clothing, books, reading glasses and mobile phones. This is the 2nd year Mirdif City Centre has run this initiative.
