The director of the film Abi Fawq Al Shajara (My Father Is Over the Tree), Hussein Kamal, has returned after 10 years of absence, shooting a film depicting Abdel Halim Havez, according to the London-based daily Al Sharq Al Awsat.

The film, titled Zaman Al Hobb Al Haqiqi (True Love Time), is written by Usama Ghazi and stars Yusra and the Moroccan singer Abdo Sharif.

Zaman Al Hobb Al Haqiqi tells the story of a young man (played by Sharif) who is still living under the spell of Abdel Halim’s songs. He meets a young lady (played by Yusra) who wishes to live in Abdel Halim’s time.

The film contains songs with Abdel Halim’s voice, and others with Sharif’s. It also includes new songs composed by Riyad Al Hamshari.

Sharif is known for performing Abdel Halim’s songs at concerts at the Opera House in Cairo. Earlier, the director Yousef Shahin had also chosen the Moroccan singer to star in a film about Abdel Halim, but the project was stopped – Albawaba.com
