Prominent Egyptian actress Yusra has throughout her career witnessed ongoing success proving her capabilities as a great actress by winning numerous awards for her roles. On a more personal level, the actress is known to be a romantic, her life being filled with happy and sad moments, and she is also known to be a down to earth character, who is sincere in the way she treats others.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Yusra revealed in a personal interview that her relationship with prominent producer Yousif Shahin is a very strong one and that it started as a business one and became something so much stronger. Yusra stressed that a spiritual bond ties her with Yousif and she is constantly in contact with him, even if she is not starring in one of his films. She added that Yousif is the most trusted producer she knows and she is always willing to take part in his films, even if the role is a minor one.
Yusra revealed that she is not dictatorial and does not make demands on who will costar with her in any of her works. The actress’s comment made with regards to the rumor that she chooses the cast of her drama series and would not accept the part if her demands are not met. Yusra noted that in her last television drama “Malak Rouhi” she nominated most of the cast member, arguing that in order for a TV drama or even a film to be successful one has to be comfortable with the cast he/she is working with.
With regards to accepting the role of a mother in most of her television dramas, Yusra revealed that such roles do not frighten her, which is the case of most actresses who do not want parts that make them look old. Yusra argued that such roles bring out the emotional and sentimental aspects of a woman, and if she had married at a young age she would in fact have children who are in their late teenage years. She added that she enjoys such roles because they are very realistic, but she makes it a point not to be repetitive in her roles in order to always add variety to her fans.
The actress denied that her concentration in the recent period to television is based on the fact that a younger generation of actors have taken over the cinema. She stressed that every actor and actress are unique in the roles they play and those from her generation still add worth to the cinema, like Egyptian comedian-actor Adel Imam, who is constantly proving that an actor’s popularity does not die out. Yusra revealed that the only reason an actor may disappear from the scenes at times is basically due to the fact that they have not found the right work that adds value to their career. –Albawaba.com
