Egyptian director Yousif Shahin called for the cast of his new movie “Ghadab” (Anger) to begin shooting immediately starting January 27, saying that there is not enough time left if the film is to be complete by end of March. Shahin had previously planned to begin shooting for his new film by January 11.
Interior designer Hamid Hamdan has already begun preparing a number of places where the scenes will be shot, and fashion designer Monia has just completed designing most of the wardrobe for the film. According to the Egyptian weekly Al Nojoom, Shahin’s office has witnessed a crowd of new faces hoping to make their debuts by taking part in the film even if their roles are very minimal.
Shahin is keen on selecting a new face in most of his films. In his new film he tapped the ballet dancer Ahmed Yahya to play the starring role as Shahin when he was young during the university study in the USA.
The film takes place during the period between 1946-2001 and tackles Shahin’s links with the west especially the United States. Events will start with love and ended with up the September 11th attack rousing anger or hatred for the United States for many reasons including its bias in favor of Israel.
Prominent Egyptian actors Yusra, Liblebah and Nour El Sherif will star in the new movie by Shahin. The movie will be shot between France and the US with scenes from Paris, New York, and California.
