Prominent Egyptian comedian Younis Shalabi was recently faced with a severe brain seizure that led to his immediate admittance into ICU. The actor was placed under strict observation until he regained his consciousness.

According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, rumors had it that Younis had the stroke after being in a big argument with one of his friends, which he immediately denied, stressing that it was caused due to his carelessness. The actor added that he had failed to follow strict doctor orders and take his medications for diabetes, and thanked God that he had survived such a critical period.

Shalabi stressed that from now on he undergo intensive physical therapy to ensure that he returns to his normal health condition especially since he is having difficulty with his speech and sight as a result of the stroke.

Shalabi had suffered from a critical health condition last year after a brain seizure which he did not fully recover from and still calls for daily physical therapy.

Younis said that despite warnings from his doctors, he still has hopes on starring in a new play and would not let a new opportunity pass by. He said that through God's will he will succeed despite his illness and added that he knew working on stage calls for double the efforts needed to act in a film or TV series, but he could not refuse a good offer for a play if it was given to him, especially since the theater lacks good scripts these days. –Albawaba.com
