Lebanese singers Nancy Ajram and Assi Hilani have joined forces and completed the recording of a new duet under the name of “Aam El Hub” (Year of Love), which was written by Saudi poet Turkey AL Sidairy and composed by Samir Safir. The songe will be included in a new CD to be released by Rotana Music Production Company, which will feature a number of duets by other famous singers.
According to the London based Elaph, in addition to having completed recording the song, which is part of a new album, it has also been filmed in the form of a music video and is scheduled for release on all Arab satellite music channels in the very near future.
It has been revealed that a personal phone call was made to the business office of both singers to inquire about the existence of the new duet and each office gave a contradicting answer to the other a matter which made the news of the song questionable. A spokesperson from Assi’s office revealed that such a project for a duet does exist but it has not been implemented as of today. Nancy’s office denied the existence of such a song and stressing that there has not been any form of cooperation between her and Hilani.
Ajram has begun shooting a new music video for her song “Ma Feesh Hajeh” (There is Nothing), which is featured in her upcoming album. Nancy’s new video is being filmed in the old town of Seeda in Lebanon amidst extensive security, which created worry among inhabitants of the town, who feared that something unusual is taking place. Once the townspeople realized that what was going on was merely a filming of a clip for Nancy, they gathered in large crowds eagerly asking for autographs and photos by the singer. Director Nadine Labky, who has directed all of Nancy’s previous videos, naturally directs the video.
In the clip, Nancy portrays the role of a simple village girl, in which she is wearing no makeup to appear natural. The song is part of the new album, which features 10 new songs and is scheduled to be released in the near future.
Lebanese singer Assi Hilani revealed that the addition of Turkish tunes to his latest album "Fursat Umor" (A Chance of a Lifetime) is considered a substantial addition to his career and music. He added that change is considered to be an essential factor of success for every singer. Assi noted that his songs, which are sung in Lebanese and gulf accents where the most popular among his fans. This fact has led Assi to depend more on himself as a composer for his songs, because he considers himself the best to know his vocal abilities. Recently Assi completed composing two new songs in the Egyptian and gulf accents.
Assi adds that he is avoiding interviews these days due to the constant suffering in the Arab world. He stressed that people are more concerned about political events that touch every Arab citizen, then what goes on in a singer's life. –Albawaba.com
