Ongoing disputes that lasted several weeks between Egyptian singer Shireen Ahmad and her producer Naser Mahrous have finally ended. Peace between the two was accomplished by the help of Egyptian singer Tamer Husni, who felt that the matter had gone too far and the accusation war must come to an end.
According to the London based Elaph, Tamer had made the two meet and solve their differences to become friends once more. Recently Shireen was to be probed by the Egyptian Musician Union in front of a judiciary committee after Mahrous filed a complaint against her for releasing a duet with Lebanese singer Fadel Shaker without his consent.
Mahrous has the sole right of managing Shireen’s work and deciding what can be released. Mahrous claimed that Shireen intentionally made the song without telling him because she has made plans to move to a new production company. The producer added that in the case that Shireen breaks the contract with him, she must pay a compensation fee of 3 million Egyptian pounds.
The union stated that it has the right to solve the problem between both parties before it is taken to a higher court in order to protect everyone’s rights. A decision will be made after Shireen is questioned regarding whether Mahrous’s case is valid or not.
Despite the fact that the duet "New Year" between Shireen and Fadel proved great success especially due to the way the video clip was filmed and the timing of its release, which was during New Year's Eve, Shireen has to deal with legal problems with Naser who claims she had made the song without referring to him.
The problem that was raised by Mahrous was due to the fact that he has sole rights over all Shireen's music production and since the duet was created without his knowledge. Shireen on her part insisted that she had notified Nasr of the matter and that he was in on all of its details. It was also revealed that many other problems had occurred previously between Shireen and her producer over financial matters.
On his part, Fadel did not give any comments regarding the matter and simply said that he was ecstatic about having the chance to sing the duet with Shireen. The two chose the song and recorded it together, in addition to filming a music video for it under the direction of Said Al Marouq. The song was recorded in recording studios in Lebanon, and talks about two lovers meeting on New Year's Eve and they exchange hope and wishes for good times that bring them closer to each other. -Albawaba.com
