A feeling of fear and anxiousness is clouding over Egyptian actress Wafa Amer as a result of threats she has been receiving from an anonymous individual. She has been receiving phone calls by a person who demands she pays him a large sum of money if she wanted to have peace of mind.
Wafa decided not to answer any phone calls if she did not recognize the caller’s number and had refused to report the matter to the police until she is sure of the person’s identity.
The actress’s friends encouraged her to do the opposite and notify the police and to hire a body guard until the threats end. The person who has been threatening her began sending SMS messages to her cell phone after she stopped answering his calls.
Wafa’s state of fear has reached a point where she avoids being outside her home at a late hour to avoid any unwanted circumstances.
On a different note, Wafa stated that she does not regret turning down Khaled Shaheen’s offer to star in the film “Arais Amr Harb”. Wafa noted that the role would not have added any significance to her career.
In addition she said that the role included too many seductive roles, and she considers such roles as a thing of the past and does not ever intend on accepting them regardless of how tempting the offer may be.
