A dark cloud hovers over the concert industry in Canada. Ticket sales amongst the Arab community are the lowest ever due to the conditions in the Middle East and an increase in ticket prices.
Milhim Barakat’s recent concert barely drew a crowd and the same scenario is repeating itself for singers Wael Kfoury and Fares Karam.
Concert sponsors Talal Ghazawi, owner of ‘Laialina Entertainment’ and Fadi Abu Asi, owner of ‘Golden Star Production’ are organizing Wael’s tour. The tour will begin November 23 and will stop in Windsor, Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa. Concert sponsor Michele Absi is organizing Fares’ tour.
According to ticket agents, Wael’s concert is affecting ticket sales for Fares’s performance. Fares may be forced to cancel his performance or face tremendous financial losses.
Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama also performed in Canada several months ago.
On a different note, Wael allowed the press to photograph him and a young woman Rima Khoury, daughter of a prominent Lebanese tycoon, hand in hand at a party. In the past he has made every effort to keep private matters away from the public eye.
The couple sat near to each other, whispering and laughing the entire evening. Many have interpreted the singer’s actions as a signal that he is ready to publicly announce his engagement.
Wael’s family revealed the singer is finally ready to get engaged. His parents said their son’s year long relationship with Rima has given new meaning to his life.
