Egyptian actor and writer Mohyi Ismail has finished writing the script of a TV series entitled Ayyam al Hissar (Days of Siege) which depicts the siege on the Palestinian president Yaser Arafat, the days during which he was imprisoned in his headquarter in Ramallah and his steadfastness in confrontation of the Israeli pressures.
Ismail told the London-based daily al Sharq al Awsat that he has a number of offers from Arabic production companies and TV channels to produce the series.
“They offered huge budgets to start shooting the series as soon as possible to go along with the events on the ground. But I still hope the Egyptian Media Production City agrees to produce it to utilize its huge studios,” added Ismail.
He pointed out that the director of the series hasn’t chose yet the actor who will play the role of the Palestinian president.
Earlier, Ismail wrapped up the script of a film on the Libyan president Muammar al Qaddafi.
“I met Colonel Qaddafi more than once and he gave me a set of his books. I based the story of the film on 12 of his books but the supervision and implementation of the work need only the first signal,” Ismail told the London-based daily al Hayat -- Albawaba.com
