The new summer release for Lebanese singer Assi Hilani is scheduled to hit stores on July 21, 2003 under the title "Fursit Omer" (A Chance of a Lifetime). It has been revealed that the album, which is expected to be a big success, holds many surprises that will fascinate Assi's fans and show a side to him never seen before.

His new album is a collection of 12 new songs sung in the Lebanese and Bedouin accents, a style that the singer had refrained from singing in his previous album. Assi stressed that his upcoming release is revolutionary in the type of music it contains. The singer is sure that the songs chosen for the album will prove to be a big success among his viewers, in which he used modernized musical and singing techniques.

Assi worked with a selected group of distributors, composers and poets for his album, which he felt were most fit for the success he hopes to achieve. The songs were recorded between Turkey, Egypt and Lebanon.

The singer is currently in Turkey where he is filming his latest music video for the song "Ghali" (Precious) from his new album, under the direction of Saeed Al Marouq in their second working experience. Once Assi finalizes all the details in his album and releases it, he will venture to hold a number of concerts in Lebanon and throughout the Arab world, reported the London based Elaph.

Hilani had recently bought a new Mercedes Benz Coupe that turned out to be stolen from its rightful owner. Assi had purchased the car from a man who had apparently forged all the legal papers that stated the car are his property, in order to walk away with a large sum of money from the singer. A court judge in Lebanon charged the seller of the car with forgery and car theft. Assi was clear of all charges due to the fact that he did not know of the scam that was pulled on him and of course he had to return the car to its rightful owner. –Albawaba.com
