The Tunisian artist Hayat Jabnon accused the famous Lebanese artist Haifa Wahbe of stealing her song “Asoolah.”
Hayat said that Haifa changed it to the Lebanese dialect. Hayat said that the word “Asoolah” is a slang Tunisian word and Haifa took it over and started singing it at Tunisian numerous musical festivals.
Hayat adds that she is popular in Tunisia and in the Arab world because she has been in the music business for the past 15 years, which means that she has been singing long before Haifa was known and came into the spotlight.
She also said that Haifa was made by art production companies and strong advertisement on many satellite channels, something many artists lack in Tunisia.
The song “Asoolah” is written and composed by the Tunisian musician Iz Al Deen Al Baji and distributed by Muhsin Al Matiri. The song is among the last productions of Hayat in her latest album.
