Theft keeps Samira Said on the secretive side

Moroccan singer Samira Said has announced that she is currently in the process of recording the songs for her upcoming album stressing that she will not reveal any information in this regard. The singer added that she is intentionally being secretive about the album fearing to encounter another theft of her songs, a matter which she has experienced more than once in the past. 

 

According to the London based magazine, Laha, Samira revealed that aside from working on her upcoming album, she is on her way to Holland where she is scheduled to hold a live performance for the Arabs living there. She added that the Dutch Minister of Culture will be attending her concert, which she feels will be a successful one. 

 

The singer has also very recently held a live performance in Paris France on September 27, 2003. Samira has revealed that upon her return she will resume work on her upcoming album which she is hopeful of releasing in the near future, and has already chosen a number of prominent poets and composers.  

 

Samira announced that she has intends on adding a second acting experience to her career and is in fact looking into a number of scripts at the moment. The singer revealed that she has selected a particular film script, which had caught her attention, but insists on making a few alterations to better suit her role.  

 

The first acting experience the singer encountered was during the beginning of her career in the documentary film "Sa Aktub Ismak Ala Al Rimal" (I Will Write Your Name on Sand). It was added that the satellite television channel Orbit will air the film in the very near future.  

 

The singer is to take part in the 15th annual World Music Awards set to take place October 12, 2003 in Monaco with the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Albert. One of the main highlights of the big event is an award presented to Samira after the success her album “Youm Wara Youm” (Day After Day).  

 

The event will be aired live on 160 different satellite stations worldwide. The singer’s award is for the success her album witnessed reaching record breaking sales around Europe and the Arab world. The Moroccan singer also received another award from the BBC International Music Award. Samira has been nominated for the award after the huge success of her last album "Youm Wara Youm".  

 

Said has spent over 40 US dollars on 6 dresses from one of the Italian fashion houses to wear in her new music video. The singer had gone to Italy specifically to buy the dresses which she feels will add to the quality of her new video for the song “Kabiltak Leah” (I Met Your Why) scheduled to be aired on local and satellite TV channels at the time of the release for her upcoming album in the very near future.  

 

Samira stressed that she is keeping the details of her new clip a complete secret, but is positive that once it is out it will fascinate viewers in ways they never thought possible. She added that she feels the video is the best she has filmed so far throughout her singing career and is hopeful of its success.  

 

The singer added that the 6 dresses were specially designed for her to wear in the music video and that she does not feel she went overboard with their cost. She added that she is always willing to do what it takes to better the quality of her videos and music regardless of the cost. -Albawaba.com
