Egyptian director Ahmed Awad tapped the young actress Buthaina Rashwan for starring in the TV series A’la al Tariq (On the Way) based on a novel by the late Egyptian writer Tharwat Abatha.
“In the series scripted by Hamdi al Maghazi, I play the role as an aristocratic girl who falls in love with a poor young man and insists of getting married to him despite the rejection of her family and the vast class discrepancy. Costarring in the series is Kamal Abu Rayyah,” Buthainah told the London based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat.
The head of the Production Department, Medhat Zaki, incorporated the series within the production plan for this year honoring the late writer Tharwat Abatha who died few days ago. The series may be aired during next Ramadhan.
Based on the story of Tharwat Abatha and the script of Mustafa Muharram, the director Ahmed Bahgat will shoot the series Shua’a al Aaml (Hope Rays) costarring Maali Zayed, Salah al Saadani, Abu Baker Ezzat, Ahmed Rateb and Aida Riyadh.
