The first international TV productions for the Islamic countries organized by the Iranian Radio and TV Corporation will be held in the Iranian Capital Teheran during the period between March 11-13, 2002.
The Nile Sector for Specialty Channels will represent Egypt at the festival. The head of the sector Nawal Abu al Naga told the London based Arabic daily al Sharq alAwsat, “we will participate in the festival with items produced by news, drama, family and kid channels including the program Waraa al Wadi (Behind the Valley) directed by Mustafa Yahya, al Kuds Kharej Nashrat al Akhbar (Jerusalem Beyond News Broadcast) directed by Hasan al Razzaz. This is in addition to the program Rasael Flistiniyyah (Palestinian Messages) directed by Mohammed Abdel Munsef and Ayyam Mukaddasah (Sacred Days) directed by Abdel Tawwab and the song Ya Lailah Oodi by singer Mohammed Munir. Also the series Mamlakat al Nahl (Bee Kingdom) and al Shibr Wa Nuss will participate in the festival.
“The sector will also participate in the Grand Prize Festival for the Children TV Programs which will be held in Munich during the period between June 5-11, 2002 with the series al Shibr Wa Nuss, Mamlakat al Nahl (Bee Kingdom) and the films Omniyat (Wishes), Dukhan Dukhan (Smoke, Smoke) and the program Hawel Te’raf (Try to Know),” added Abu al Naga—Albawaba.com
