The big event which is to mark the return of Egyptian singer Tamer Husni to the music scenes has been postponed twice in a period of two months. The new and final date has been set to be on Valentine’s Day February 14, 2007, where the singer has been preparing for major surprises for his fans, but has refused to reveal what they are.

The event is organized by both companies ‘Melody’ and ‘Al Mawhoob’, and it is expected that it will witness major success.

At first, Tamer’s return was scheduled to be on December 28, 2006, but due to bad weather the concert was postponed, and the second date was to be on January 25, 2007, but it was also called off for different reasons.

On a somewhat similar note, producer Mohammad Al Sabky has decided to postpone screening the film "Amr and Salma" until the summer season. The film was scheduled to be released in January.

The film is a romantic story staring Tamer and actors Mai Izz El din, Izzat Abu Ouf, Mais Hamdan, Marwa Abdul Min'em, and Mohammad Suleiman.

Tamer and best friend Haitham Shaker will appear together in a new film, after sharing a prison cell while serving a sentence for forging legal documents to avoid military service.

Producer/director Nasr Mahrous is working on the new film that will feature the two stars. Scenarist Ahmad Abdul Fatah announced the film, “Al Fareeq” (The Team), will be released in the near future.

Ahmad also wrote the script for Tamer’s first film “Halet Hub” (A Case of Love).

Tamer and Haitham were convicted by a military court and sentenced to a one year prison term for forging official papers to avoid military service. A third accomplice, who actually forged the papers, received a five-year prison term.

Tamer’s popularity has only increased since his arrest and sentencing.

Husni was able to return to the scenes after Egyptian General Hussein Tantawi gave his approval.
