Tamer Husni innocent of all accusations against him

Egyptian singer Tamer Husni has denied most recent circulating rumors that he has been convicted of running away from paying his due taxes and that he is facing a three-year jail sentence. The singer stressed that the verdict was in fact made but against another singer who is named Abdul Hamid Al Said and alias the name Tamer Husni.  

 

According to the Egyptian based daily, Al Gomhoriya, the singer noted that Tamer Husni is his real name and it is proven in all his legal papers and in the Musician association, which he is a part of. Tamer added that Abdul Hamid is the one who is wanted for not paying his taxes, but the fact is that he has passed away over a year ago.  

 

Tamer revealed that he is not facing any problems with the tax evasion department and that he has an auditor that makes sure all his taxes are paid on time since he began his music career.  

 

Rumors had it that an Egyptian court has sentenced Tamer to a three-year jail term. It was added that he was forced to pay 130 thousand Egyptian pounds to the Egyptian General Administration of Tax Evasion and Taxation Authority, and fined for the exact amount after he attempted to escape from paying overdue taxes on his singing activities that have accumulated to 271 thousand Egyptian pounds.  

 

The rumors also had it that investigation tax officials had discovered that the singer has not paid any income tax from concerts, new albums. Tax officials notified the police and demanded legal actions to be taken against the singer. Warnings have been sent to Tamer that legal actions will be taken sentencing him to at least a 3-year prison term if he does not pay by early next year.  

 

On a different note, Tamer has completed all preparations for his upcoming album after a long absence and has filmed one of the songs in the form of a video clip. The album features nine songs written by him and producer Naser Mahrous. The album is scheduled for release in the near future. –Albawaba.com
