Head of the Syrian Musician Union, Sabah Obeid, revealed that he received a message on his mobile phone from Lebanese sexy singer Haifa Wahbi threatening him after he had released a decision to ban her from singing in Syria. He says that he still has the message saved on his mobile and if Haifa begins to create problems he will take serious legal actions against her.

Sabah says he is not against Haifa personally and she is free to sing in any style she wants and it is up to her if she wants to sing almost nude with sexy moves. He adds that there are so many satellite channels that she could show off on. He states that only real singers with meaningful lyric are allowed to sing in Syria.

Sabah states that he was appointed to his position for his qualifications and he doesn’t need Haifa Wahbi to make him famous. There were other singer alongside Wahbi who are banned from singing in Syria like Elissa and Rubyi. Sabah adds that there is a search for decent singers who don’t need to sell their bodies in order to sell their songs and he intends on allowing such singers to perform in Syria.
