It is no surprise that most of the female singers who are banned from singing in Syria are ones that are classified as seductive singers who use their bodies to tempt people into watching them. There are rumors that the Head of the Musician and Arts Union in Syria Sabah Obeid only banned those female singers because of political reasons. Since the Syrian Lebanese relation isn’t on excellent terms, many female Lebanese singers aren’t allowed to hold any concerts in Syria.

Most of the singers who are considered erotic, usally appear on Melody music channel. Lebanese singer Dominique tried singing in the Syrian dialect in order to be permitted to sing in Syria, but the union leader did not buy that. Most singers on the black list take their dispute with the Syrian union leader personally. They believe that he has some personal problems against those who sing almost naked with seductive movements in their video clips.

According to the London daily Elaph, on the other hand Egyptian cinema has opened the doors for seductive singers like Haifa, Dana, Marwa, Nana and many more to take leading roles in Egyptian films. Nowadays you don’t find an Egyptian film without a Lebanese singer starring in it.

Most Lebanese singers who are starring in these movies are there to sell tickets for the movie and nothing more. They are seen as a trend for now and the real talents are there to stay.
