Syrian stars Suzan Najm Eddin and Abbas Al Nuri are currently shooting the new TV series Furset Omor (A Life Chance), which criticizes society in a comic style, according to the Arabic daily Al Bayan.
The series consists of 30 separate episodes linked by the two main characters, the couple Shafiq and Nathira (played by Najm Eddin and Al Nuri), who leave their small village to get lost in a big city, searching for a job.
Some 24 artists participate in the series, which was written by Hafeth Qarqut and is directed Azzam Fawq Al Adah. The cast includes Abdel Rahman Ala Rashi, Salim Sabri, Jamal Sleiman, Zenati Qudseyya, Maha Sabri, Sabah Al Jazairi and Shukran Murtaja.
The episodes tackle many negative social phenomena and behaviors, such as superstition, gossip, narcissism, unemployment, cheating, stealing, bribery and other similar forms of corruption, ignorance and retardation spreading among different social groups.
Furset Omor is produced by the Arab Co. Its filming is expected to be finished next October, and it will be screened next Ramadan – Albawaba.com
