Syrian actress Suzan Najim Al Din postponed all her show business events and went to Cairo for 24 hours to take part in a special awards ceremony sponsored and organized by the satellite television channel ART. At the ceremony Suzan will be presenting awards to celebrities who were outstanding in the roles they played in different drama series that were screened during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to the London daily Elaph, Suzan expressed her joy and honor for being recognized for her role in the Egyptian drama series “Noqtit Nitham” (Period Of Order). She played the role of a Bedouin woman named ‘Qmar’ and she worked with a number of Egyptian stars mainly the well-known Slah Al Sa’dani. Suzan justifies that her role as Qamar is minor in comparison to ones she played in the past in Syrian drama. Suzan has made a name for herself in the Syrian drama when she took roles in “Nihayat Rajol Shoja’, (The End of a Powerful Man), Al Thrya (The Rich), Abu Zaid Al Hilali, Zoj Al Sit (The Woman’s Husband), Al Thaher Bibars and Molok Al Tawa’if”.
Yet despite the role of Qamar being a minor one and not one she would usually accept, she stated that it’s an opening door for her in Egyptian drama.
Suzan revealed that she is very excited about her new Syrian drama series “Al Haribah” (The Runaway) and it will be aired on the Syrian first channel away from Ramadan’s entire busy and hectic schedule. Alongside Suzan a number of Syrian actors will be co-starting in the series like Ghasan Masood, Basil Khayat, Ayman Rida, Abed Al Min’em Amari and Shkran Mrtaji. The series will be a production of Suzan’s own Production Company “Sana” meaning the light. In her productions she has moved away from the old and traditional Syrian life style to doing drama about today’s world and what concerns people.
Suzan is branching off to other interests like writing and she has written 15 episodes for a drama series so far. She is brining in issues and concerns of today and portraying it in a drama series.
