The famous Syrian actress Solaf Fawakhrji denied newspaper reports that she will star in a film with the famous Egyptian superstar Tamer Hosny.

According to the Jordanian daily Al Rai, Solaf said that she did receive an offer back in April from her friend the director Wael Ihsan to star in an upcoming film with Hosny.

Solaf said that she requested to read the script first, but it was never delivered to her.  She indicated that her request was not well received.

Solaf also denied a report published in an Algerian newspaper claiming that she was cheering for the Algerian soccer team instead of the Egyptian during their recent match in Sudan.  After Egypt defeated Algeria, Algerian fans attacked Egyptian fans at the game.

Solaf said that she has no interest in soccer and would never betray Egypt, where she became famous.

“I would never let down my Egyptian fans, and I do not accept what happened to the Egyptian fans in Sudan,” said Solaf, adding that there is corruption in the media and she does not know who is behind it.
