Egyptian producer and director, Nasr Mahrous has revealed that that the rumor of his intent to produce a new film especially for singer Shireen Abdul Wahab, for whom he is the business manager, is true.
Filming will begin in the upcoming months, but it is still to early to reveal the details of the film and its stars, explained Mahrous, but assured that it will include a number of performances by Shireen.
The film will mark Shireen’s return to the big screen after a long absence. The last film she appeared in was "Mido Mashakal" (Mido Trouble) alongside actor Ahmad Al Sakka.
Shortly after the release of her latest album "Lazem Eish" (I Have to Live), Shireen achieved the highest record sales of the summer season.
Shireen and Mahrous have had a troubled history, but were finally able to resolve their differences after Mahrous agreed to remedy the errors of the past few months.
Shireen had filed a lawsuit against Mahrous demanding to break the contract between them. Shireen claimed that Nasr only produced one album for her every two years, a matter that negatively affects her career and is against the stipulations of their contract, which clearly states he must produce an album for her, yearly.
Shireen explained that she must present a new music style in order to maintain her career, and Mahrous has promised to offer her the necessary resources.
