Egyptian singer Shireen Abdul Wahab has announced that she overlooked the idea of having her first baby in the United States of America. What prompted the singer’s sudden decision was warnings from her doctors that to travel at such a late stage in her pregnancy could be harmful to her and the baby and she may go into delivery at any given moment.
The singer’s family and friends also had been trying to convince her to not have her baby in the US due to the fact that in the recent years the perception Americans have of Arabs and Muslims in particular has changed tremendously in a negative sense. Friends also stressed to Shireen that her rivalries will use her delivering in the US against her to try and ruin her stardom.
Shireen had previously announced that she had wanted to deliver her baby, which is said to be a girl, in the US in order to obtain the American citizenship.
