Egyptian singer Shireen Ahmad has announced that she has cancelled her trip to Algeria, where she was scheduled to hold a concert for the first time. Shireen revealed that the reason behind her cancellation is the fact that the sponsoring company was not able to send the plane tickets in addition to other matters concerning her stay in Algeria.

According to the London based Elaph, Shireen assured that her concerts in Lebanon have not been cancelled and she plans on leaving Cairo in the upcoming few days.

Shireen's trip to Algeria was to mark her first performance there and was to be sponsored by one of the telecommunication companies. Shireen's performance in Algeria was expected to find great success like the ones she previously held in Tunisia and Morocco.

Shireen has sadly turned down an invitation to take part in the annual Carthage festival in Tunisia due to the fact that she will be over loaded with preparations for her upcoming album. The singer is due to hold a number of concerts around the Arab world after which she will head to Egypt and concentrate on producing her next album.

Shireen revealed that she has accepted an invitation to hold live concerts at the Jordanian annual summer festival Jarash. Shireen's participation in the Jarash Festival comes during the end of August at which time she would have completed all the necessary preparations for her album. -Albawaba.com
