In complete secrecy and among a small group of family members and very close friends, Egyptian singer Shireen Abdul Wahab announced her engagement to Egyptian businessman Essam, whom she had met two years ago. The singer revealed that an official engagement party will be held in the upcoming few weeks at her apartment in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Cairo.
According to the London based weekly, Sayidaty, the singer revealed that she made it a point to keep a tight lid on the engagement until everything was formal, in addition not to be attacked by the media with rumors that may hurt her.
Shireen had announced her engagement to Issam in the presence of her producer Naser Mahrous, whom she made up with recently, in addition to her fiancé’s family.
Shireen had stressed that her marriage would not affect her music career, and that she plans on resuming her journey, especially since the upcoming period marks such an important one with the success she is accomplishing.
On a different note, Shireen will hold a grand celebration for the release of her upcoming album followed by a press conference in the very near future.. Shireen has been living a very hectic schedule traveling from one Arab country to the next holding concerts and meetings.
