Retired Egyptian actor Shams Al Baroodi, wife of Egyptian actor Hasan Yousif, has denied rumors that she has returned to acting after 25 years.
The rumors claim that she will star in a new television drama, produced by an Arab satellite channel and to be aired during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
Al Baroodi said, “I do not know who is behind these rumors or the reason for spreading them.” She said that she has declined many lucrative offers to act again because she is committed to worshiping god.
Al Baroodi decided to put an end to her acting career after making the pilgrimage to Mecca in 1983.
On the other hand, she does not mind that her husband still acts job, especially since he only plays “religious roles.” She also supports her oldest son Amro’s acting career as long as he plays “respectful roles.”
