Lebanese-Colombian pop/rock singer Shakira Mebarak will be singing for the first time throughout her career an Arabic duet "Masr Al Hub" (Egypt Love) in the Lebanese and Egyptian accent with Egyptian singer Hamada Hilal, who will sing his part in English and the Tunisian accent.
According to the Egyptian daily, Al Ahram, Hamada will travel to London at the end of March to record the song with the Columbian singer in one of London's most advanced recording studios. The music video for the duet will be filmed in different areas of London after the recording is complete. It was added that the background throughout the clip will be of the Egyptian great Pyramids.
On a different note, Shakira has made arrangements to hold a number of concerts for the first time in Morocco this coming June. Sources in Rabat have revealed that a group of sponsors from London have arrived in Morocco to finalize agreements for Shakira’s concerts.
Shakira will be holding concerts in Casablanca, Rabat, and possibly a third Moroccan city. Organizers for the big event are trying to complete all necessary procedures in secrecy not wanting to reveal any additional information until everything is finalized. It was added that great efforts are being made in organizing the concerts, where it was revealed that there is a possibility of holding Shakira’s concerts during the summer festivals that take place in Morocco.
The concerts are expected to prove a huge success due to the fact that Shakira holds great popularity all over Morocco. Her style of mixing Arab traits and forms of dancing into her performances is one of the main reasons her popularity has spread so fast around the Arab world.
On a different note, Shakira has also announced that she will be visiting her home country Lebanon this April to perform two concerts. Shakira had stressed her desire to hold different performances in Lebanon and a contract has been signed with sponsors to hold the concerts in Beirut. Organizer of the Beit El Din Festival, Nour Janbalat, was able to successfully reach an agreement worth 800,000 US dollars with the Lebanese-Colombian singer.
Shakira had previously announced on live TV that she will go on a Middle East tour and has signed a contract to hold three concerts in Egypt at the Light and Sound Theater. The singer has recently sent a crew of song specialists to study the taste of the Egyptian population so as to know what type of songs to perform. –Albawaba.com
