Famous Lebanese /Colombian singer Shakira has finally agreed after months of negotiations to hold a concert in Cairo at the end of August.

The Arab satellite channel Infinity and Egyptian FM radio station had previously invited Shakira to hold a performance in Egypt, but the singer had declined due to her busy schedule.

Negotiations were renewed this year and were successful, on the singer’s condition that the contract is signed through an international company.

The singer explained that she set the stipulation so that her conditions will be met and she will be paid in full.

The international company that sponsored the concerts of Enrique Iglesias and Blue has contacted Shakira to arrange her first concert ever in Egypt.

Shakira enjoys great popularity among Egyptians, and attempts are underway to find an Egyptian or Arab singer to perform alongside her in the concert that is considered to be the highlight of the summer season.

Recently, the Music Production Company Rotana held negotiations with Shakira to hold concerts in Egypt and a number of other Arab countries, but to their dismay they did not reach an agreement.
