After several years of being away from Egypt where she used to stay in the eighties, the Lebanese prominent singer Sabah decided to settle permanently there.
“Egypt is my country which gave me a lot. It is everything for me and its art and music is something different,” Sabah told the daily al Ahram in her response to a question why she took the decision.
Sabah is now gearing up for her art activities in Egypt. She said she had received an offer from the Opera House in Cairo to perform in a musical play directed by her husband Fadi. The play was portrayed in Beirut in the Lebanese dialect and will be adapted in the Egyptian dialect.
Sabah holds the Egyptian citizenship, which was offered to her by the late Egyptian president Anwar al Sadat in appreciation for her artwork in Egypt and the Arab world.
The Lebanese singer was honored three times in Egypt. The first time was at the Egyptian Film Festival in Alexandria, the second time in a concert for the Egyptian Broadcasting Corporation and the third time at the seventh session of Cairo International Song Festival -- Albawaba.com
