Syrian singer Ruwaida Attieh is scheduled to release her second album “Khisamak Mur” (Ignoring you is sour) this month under the production of Al Shams Music company.
Arab networks have already begun airing one of the songs from the album, “Juruhi” (My Wounds), as a way of promoting for the release of the album.
According to the London based daily, Dar Al Hayat, Ruwaida also completed filming the music video for the song “Almanii” and plans on releasing it with the album.
Ruwaida revealed that the new album features a variety of songs sung in the Egyptian, Lebanese, Syrian and Gulf dialects.
Ruwaida worked with a number of prominent composers, including Salah Al Sharnoubi, on the album. She stated that “working with him is a dream come true.”
In regard to the song “My Wounds,” the singer revealed in a personal interview that it is a reflection of the reality she lives in the entertainment world. She noted that she has been stabbed in the back and betrayed by many in the entertainment world and doubts people’s sincerity.
Ruwaida thinks that the deception she has experienced from people could be due to their intimidation by her rising fame and the fear that she may overshadow them, she added. Ruwaida stressed that since she began her career the intention of crossing over others never occurred to her and her only goal was to achieve success as a singer.
Ruwaida admitted that her newfound fame of the past year has at times been overwhelming, because it puts pressure on her and demands that she live up to people’s expectations.
