A long and fierce competition between many Arab channels ended in a victory for Rotana's music channel for the rights to broadcast the events of the “halla febrayer” (Hello February) Festival in Kuwait. The contract will be for US$ 500,000 to be paid in cash and another US$ 250,000 paid as advertisements for the festival on the Rotana channel.
According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, Ahmed Naqro, director of Rotana, will be traveling to Kuwait in the coming days to sign the contract with the Kuwaiti organizing committee of the festival. Several programs will be aired to promote the festival and various propagators of Rotana will be participating in the promoting campaign. Among these is Egyptian Hala Sarhan who will present a special program called “khaymat Hala Sarhan” (Hala Sarhan's tents), the daily live program will be broadcasted throughout the days of the festival.
A separate contract was signed with the Lebanese Future TV satellite channel to broadcast all the events of the festival. A team from Future TV will fly to Kuwait to cover the event. Prominent announcer Michele Izzi will be among the team, where it is expected that he will have his own show to cover the event. Rumors say that former Future announcer, Yumna Shirri; will be introducing the festival and this might be aired on the Future TV or at Kuwaiti national TV.
This year many of Kuwait’s famous announcers will be participating along with the Lebanese team and with Rotana, among them is famous Kuwaiti announcer Halima Boland. –Albawaba.com
