Their love affair was once the stuff of romantic movies but things have turned bitter between Syrian director Rasha Sharbatji and her husband, cameraman Nasser Rakka, who - after years of married life - have announced their divorce.
Rasha took to her Facebook page to fill fans in on the bad news: "It is with deep regret that I announce my divorce from Nasser Rakka after years of marriage due to family matters".
Problems between the pair hit boiling point while they were working together on the sequel of 'Birth from the Waist'. But, Nasser assured fans that their split would cut the drama we're used to seeing from celebs in the Arab world.
She said of her former love: "Nasser Rakka is a gentleman. I respect his opinion whether I am married to him or not."
The star also hinted towards her regret that their marriage had not been salvagable with a loaded quote from the Quran: "And it may be that you dislike something that may be good for you".
