A number of prominent Egyptian and other Arab female artists have become the target of a conspiracy by anonymous persons for the production of illicit pornographic films that defame them. These crooks have gathered pornographic pictures and scenes over the Internet and placed the faces of some of the most popular female artists (such as Egyptian actresses H.T, M.A, Lebanese singers N. Z, P.M, and former dancer D) on them and made actual films that contain scenes too demeaning to be imagined.
According to the Arab magazine Laha, the pornographic films produced have been sold in black markets for as cheap as 15 Egyptian pounds each. They have been copied on CDs which makes their distribution easy and more affordable. Police have been trying hard to track down the source of these films for the simple act of distributing such ludicrous movies has caused uproar and anger over the reputations destroyed and insulted.
The scandal of the existence of pornographic films began when a lead was given to police about the selling of such films on every street corner in Egypt and around the Arab world. The surprise came when the stars of these films were well-known actresses and singers who have made a respectable name and reputation for themselves among people. Police were able to track down several sources who were producing the films such as local computer stores who offered their special customers CDs with such films recorded on them. Fabricated scenes of actresses with other actors, who are also well-known, were exposed.
Most actors who have been victims of such indecent violation of privacy and right, have received copies delivered to their doorsteps as an attempt to frustrate and drive them mad. The films ranged from 20 minutes to an hour long filled with poses and sexually provocative scenes.
Investigators have examined most of the copies that they were able to retrieve to prove the innocence of everyone who was used in such a demeaning way. In addition to the films, fabricated nude photos of famous figures were sent to several porn magazines that publicly displayed them.
Extra effort is being taken to capture the perpetrators who are behind the scandal that shook the entertainment world by a storm. In addition, the Internet sites that are displaying the pictures of these women are being traced by officials in order to close them down and bring to trial those responsible. –Albawaba.com
