Doctors have requested Egyptian actress Muna Shalabi to refrain from speaking for at least a week, after a surgical operation she underwent in her vocal cords. The actress is now using a paper and pen to communicate with those around her.
According to the London based Elaph, after Muna's health condition improves and she is able to speak once more, she will resume preparations for her upcoming film "Al Athab Wal Mut'ah" (Pleasure and Pain). The film is directed by David Abdul Sayed and will costar Tunisian actress Hind Sabri and a number of young actors.
Shalabi has proven her capabilities as an actress through taking part in many different cinematic and TV works that found great success among viewers. The actress has announced that she has finally been chosen by director Othman Abu Laban for her first leading role in a new film "Kawalees" (Backstage).
Muna revealed that the new film will be the first directing experience for Othman and has a budget of 5 million Egyptian pounds and is written by scenarist Mohammad Hifthi. The film revolves around a story of four good friends who suddenly encounter big problems that lead them to separate due to becoming overly jealous of one another.
Muna stressed that the film presents a new experience for her marking the first step in her journey to fame. She added that her role in the film is different from all the other roles she has so far played proving that she is able to take on such responsibilities. –Albawaba.com
